MASTERCLASS: SCENES

Bring your scene to life.

This is your scene’s moment.

You’ve worked on your story all year. Now bring the scene that matters most, put it in front of Joan, and watch it come to life.

In the room, a scene changes fast. What is it really about? What does each character want, and do? What do they feel? How do the relationships evolve? Actors get on their feet. The plot lands in a shot. And the scene you’ve lived with for months inside your head becomes real — clearer, braver and more vivid than you imagined.

This is the work behind Little Miss Sunshine, Beginners and Transparent. Scenes worked in this room have gone on to become scenes in films and series the world knows.

Filmmaking is a collective art. The Lab Series Online is a community of artists who help each other get their work made. Together, you take leaps. Every breakthrough lifts the whole room, and your work rises with it.

Come celebrate the year’s work and launch what comes next. Whether you’ve been with us all year or you’re just arriving, this is where 2027 begins.

Bring your scene. Let’s make it come alive, together.

What Happens

Bring any scene you’re working on. Joan selects 2–4 scenes from the class and works them live, and everyone learns from every scene.

Bring Your Work
